Paul Caddis is hoping his side can bounce back after Saturday's defeat at Boston as Banbury travel to Edgar Street tonight.Hereford suporters at Boston on Saturday
He said the 1-0 loss was disappointing, with an incredible strike by Jimmy Knowles – and an equally impressive injury-time save from Cameron Gregory denying Jason Cowley – securing three points for the hosts.
But Caddis said supporters should be expecting more than the club just avoiding relegation this season.
He said while he doesn't look at the table, supporters should be proud of the journey the club has been on. With effectively no players, the task facing Caddis was seismic.
Few will be able to say that he hasn't impressed, not only reaching the FA Cup first round, bringing together a hard-working, dedicated group of players whose commitment can never be questioned.
"When you look at it [the club] four or five months ago I decided to have no players effectively," he said after Saturday's match.
"I think the group that's come in in the club and the journey we went on in the first four months is something that everyone can be proud of.
"Supporters today were unbelievable. I wasn't here last year, I wasn't privy last year, but I don't know how many times players got a standard ovation after a 1-0 defeat.
"That's credit to them, they [supporters] are recognising what we're trying to do on the pitch. We know we're up against it time after time.
"We know that the remit of the football club is to stay in the division because of the stuff that's gone on behind the scenes.
"I certainly don't have that aim and neither do the players and shouldn't the supporters either."
While relegation might not really have been on fans' minds, the Bulls are 17th with 23 points from 16 games.
They have up to two games in hand on the sides above them, and are only two points off the play-off places. The league is tight though, with 21st-placed Rushall Olympic on 18 points.
In his programme notes ahead of tonight's game, Caddis said he is "of the feeling that supporters and players, as well as the Hereford FC staff and directors, maintain a positive mindset towards the football club" and wants the "feel-good factor" spread.
