Paul Caddis is attracting the attention of 'several' clubs, reports say |
BirminghamLive reports that Caddis is attracting the interest of clubs, including 14th-placed National League side Woking.
How much truth there is in those reports remains to be seen, but the story from the paper said Caddis, whose career is probably best remembered for playing for Scotland and scoring the legendary stoppage time goal that saved Birmingham City from relegation to League One, has done well since taking over at Edgar Street in May.
Caddis let all but one of last season's players go and faced completely rebuilding the squad ahead of the new season.
He's done so successfully, signing impressive players such as Curtis Pond, Paul Downing and Jason Cowley. The latter of course has spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines with Nathan Cameron and Jordan Lyden, with striker Andy Williams yet to play a competitive game for the Bulls.
And, as reported by Bulls News, all that is against a backdrop of cuts at Edgar Street, with the playing budget slashed by around £100,000 this season according to the supporters' trust, or about 20 per cent according to the club.
The reports from BirminghamLive lacked substance, saying: "Crowds have also improved and Caddis, who has a 52 per cent win ratio in all competitions, has caught the eye of several clubs who are monitoring his progress, including National League side Woking who are 14th in the fifth tier."
The job at Hereford is the 35-year-old's first step into management having been working at Fleetwood Town’s academy before the move to Edgar Street.
He has praised the fans repeatedly and talked about how hard work, character and desire are the things he wants his players to show all the time.
The side currently sit 10th in the National League North, two points off the play-offs, and reached the first round proper of the FA Cup where they were knocked out by Gillingham.
