Bowen Ensured Cup Game Went Ahead

It's been a difficult week for Hereford groundsman Ben Bowen as it seems to have rained on most days.

Today was no different with rain at Edgar Street until just before 2pm.

Without his dedication, the pitch would not have been in such good condition.

Earlier this week he returfed the Meadow End goal mouth.

And today before the game he was seen mopping up surplus water from under the Len Weston Stand.

His work hard paid off.

As when the referee Ollie Yeates saw the pitch he was said to have been pleased how green it was. 

And whilst the pitch was marked in places this afternoon there's little doubt Ben will have it back in top condition on Tuesday evening when Hereford play Brackley.
