Moses Ashikodi -Where Is He Now?

Every so often a former Hereford United player has a story written about him. One of the latest articles is about Moses Ashikodi who played for Hereford in 2008.

Ashikodi started his career at Millwall and given his debut at just 15 years and 240 days. However he was released after an incident on the training ground involving another player.

He moved to West Ham with manager Alan Pardew calling him a 'major talent'. However he never featured for the Hammers and went on loan to Gillingham before being released.

Then it was Rangers but he only played once for them and that was against Celtic. He came on as a sub very late in the game and never touched the ball.

And then to Watford and two premier league appearances but it wasn't long before he went out on loan firstly to Bradford, then Swindon and finally Hereford.

His only goal for the Bulls came in the Carling Cup against Crystal Palace in August 2008.

'Ashikodi shot high and wide with an amibitious long-range effort from the right-hand side, whilst Robbie Threlfall curled a free-kick over the bar from 25 yards. Just four minutes shy of half-time, Hereford went one up courtesy of Ashikodi's first goal. Toumani Diagouraga played the ball into Johnson in the centre of the pitch, opening up play in the process. The former Darlington man proceeded towards the goal before switching to Kris Taylor on the left-hand side and he delivered a perfect cross for Ashikodi to head in off the bar.'

Ashikodi returned to Watford a month later after sustaining a foot injury.

After Watford came Shrewsbury Town, Kettering Town (twice), Ebbsfleet United (twice), York City (twice), Enfield Town, Margate, Farnborough, Cray Wanderers (twice), AFC Hornchurch, Eastbourne Borough, Maldon & Tiptree, Walton Casuals (twice), Walton & Hersham, Carshalton Athletic, Croydon (twice), East Grinstead Town, Whyteleafe, Guildford City, Chatham Town, Three Bridges, Rochester United, VCD United (twice) and South Park.

These days it believed he is a personal trainer in London.
