Newly appointed Southport manager Jim Bentley will be in charge for the first time on Saturday away at Hereford.
And given their recent form it could be a good time to play them he feels.
“I know the Hereford manager, I had a few texts with him at the beginning of the season and I was pleased to see them start well but now I’m back in the game, I want them to lose at the weekend to the hands of us,” he said.
“It could be a good time to play them, they’ve had a bit of a wobble themselves after a good start, beaten 4-0 on Monday, under pressure at home in front of their own fans.
“We have to go there with no fear, give it our absolute all, enjoy the challenge, no one in the game will feel sorry for you, that’s one thing I have learned.
“Everyone is waiting to throw a boot into you, Hereford will be ready to try get the three points but we’ve got to make sure we’re men about it.
“We know the job at hand, we’re committed, we’re organised, determined, disciplined and give it our absolute all which gives us a building block going into the next game.”
