Hughes Said Hereford Are A Good Side

Paul Caddis And Mark Hughes

Mark Hughes, the Kings Lynn manager, was pleased with a point from Saturday's game against Hereford but felt they had the better chances especially late in the second half.

He mentioned both Curtis Pond, the Hereford keeper, and Adam Rooney, who led the line.

"I thought we controlled possession first half, created some great chances, scored a really good goal.

"I was happy at half time and we started the second half really well on a really heavy pitch, really heavy day - Colchester's game was called off, just goes to show the amount of rain we've had.

"The way they set up was excellent, two banks of four and two centre forwards.

"Going 2-1 up I was a little disappointed to conced straight away but I thought when our subs came on they made a great impact and I thought the winner was going to come but it didn't."

Lynn had several decent chances and Hughes admitted the Hereford keeper had done well especially with one chance.

"Credit to the keeper, he half read it and spread himself really well. I thought he was probably man of the match second half.

"Ismal had a great attempt at the end, the goalie made a good save.

"The way we played I was really pleased with the chances we created."

Hughes wasn't sure before the game how Hereford would play.

"But when they had their assistant manager playing you could tell they were going to be organised.

"I thought Rooney was excellent up top and he controlled the midfield behind him and his strike partner.

"Credit to Paul Caddis, I think they are a very good side."
