Former Hereford defender signs new three-year deal with Championship club

Former Hereford defender Cameron Pring has signed a new three-year deal that will keep him at Bristol City until 2026.

The Championship club said the deal secured the mid-term future of the defender, who has established himself in the Robins' side over the last two seasons and made 74 appearances since his debut in August 2021.

Before that, he spent time on loan at Aldershot, Hereford, Newport County, Cheltenham, Walsall and Portsmouth.

He made 17 appearances for Hereford in the 2017-18 Southern League Premier Division season as the Bulls secured their third promotion in as many seasons.

Pring told Bristol City's website: “I’m glad to get it over the line. It’s good to have that security – a three-year deal.

"It shows good intent from the club and it’s time to push on and hopefully prove them right.

“I’ve still got a lot more to give but that’s what I expect of myself. I want to be flying up the wing and creating goals and helping the team as much as possible.”

After a 2-0 win over Royston at the end of March 2018, Pring said: "It's not often you get a chance to play in front of a big crowd. I'm really enjoying it here."

Pring felt Hereford coped with Royston "very well", with the Bulls top of the table as they went into the final games of the season.

"We played to our strengths, kept plugging away and got the win in the end," he added.

Playing at left-back, where James Bowen was also a regular face for the Bulls, Pring was enjoying his time at Edgar Street.

He said: "He's a very good player, competition brings the best out of us I suppose.

"I've really enjoyed it, the whole experience at the club is very professional.

"It is a very good experience to be out on loan at whatever level and this is perfect.

"Seven games to go now so one game at a time. Hopefully, we'll get there."
