Former Hereford left back Jack Evans has signed for Hailfax after several weeks on trial.
Hereford will receive some compensation from Halifax as Evans is under 24.
The 22 year old has signed a one year deal with a year's option.
Manager Chris Millington said he was excited about bringing him to the Shay.
"We were aware of him last season, we knew about his qualities, we knew
about how well he’d done at Hereford and the accolades he got come the
end of the season," Millington said as reported by the Halifax Courier.
"He’s incredibly hard-working, very competitive, a good communicator, a good presence in the group and offers that versatility of being able to play central midfield, left wing-back, left-back, left side of a back three.
"In terms of his age and experience, he fits the Halifax Town profile in that he’s got some good experience under his belt but he’s still got a bit to prove to people."
Meanwhile Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds said they respected Evans's wish to play at a higher level.
"While we were keen for him to remain here, and offered him a new deal
to stay, Jack made it clear he wanted to try to return to full-time
football and would not be signing a new contract."
