Decision on club's bid to make changes to Edgar Street broadband

Edgar Street's landlord has given the club permission to make changes – to improve the stadium's broadband.

Herefordshire Council, which owns Edgar Street, said the club had asked if it could install better broadband facilities for visitors.

Under the lease, formal consent is needed for alterations and, when giving the club the green light, the council said there is to be "full reinstatement" after any excavations.

The work will be entirely within the site and there will be no impact on passing traffic or pedestrians, according to the decision notice.

Sarah Jowett, the strategic assets delivery director at the council, said the consent is subject to all necessary consents, drawings and complying with health and safety legislation.

Hereford FC's contractor will be required to provide evidence of public liability insurance, she said, granting the licence.

There will also be no cost to the council and the value of the council’s reversionary interest will not be disadvantaged – effectively meaning it won't affect the value.
