Gwent Police launched a search for Joe Taylor after he disappeared from his home in Grosmont on Monday afternoon.
But after sharing an appeal, police said yesterday (Wednesday) that his body had been found.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious," the force said.
"Our thoughts remain with his family at this time."
Tributes have now been paid to the 38-year-old.
Hereford Pegasus said: "The club are devastated to hear of the death of Joe.
"He was an excellent coach within our youth section, stepping down this year.
"Joe represented the club in the first two years of the Vets team, winning the league in the first season. He will be greatly missed. RIP Joe."
Hereford Lads Club said: "Such sad news about Joe Taylor. So popular in local football and a person you could always stop and have a chat to.
"RIP Joe - our thoughts are with your family and friends at this difficult time."
Westfields said: "RIP Joe Taylor, a very familiar face amongst local football in Herefordshire.
"From everyone at Westfields FC, our thoughts are with Joe’s family and friends at this difficult time."
The Herefordshire Football League said: "Our deepest sympathies to all friends and family of Joe T.
"Involved in local football for many years, having many successes in local leagues, he will be sorely missed by many. RIP."
