Some months ago whilst Jon Hale was chairman of Hereford there was news that the club were looking at the possibility of upgrading the floodlight at Edgar Street.
Since then the club have said that the floodlights passed a recent test and so were up to National North League standard.
However the subject was raised at yesterday's fans forum after only two thirds of the bulbs appeared to be working at last Tuesday's pre-season game.
"Darren our stadium director had a really good meeting with some people who provide funding that might be able to come from a premier league fund that helps lower league clubs," said chairman Chris Ammonds.
"They discussed the different types of lights that can be used.
"There's the funding side and also the side of what we need.
"There's a lot of encouragement to look for greener options.
"It's very much work in progress.
"We know we need to improve them. I can't give you a timescale.
"If you are looking for grant funding you have to go down the route of getting three quotes. It's never a speedy process.
"It's very much something we know we're aware of and we need to move forward with."
