After last night's pre-season 4-1 victory at Nuneaton, Paul Caddis said he was very pleased with the result but disappointed that his side hadn't keept a clean sheet.
Whilst the first half was goal-less, Hereford went three up early in the second half before Nuneaton got one back. The Bulls then made it four late in the game.
"Very pleased but disappointed with the goal to be honest," said the Hereford manager.
"First fifteen minutes of the second half I thought we were excellent.
"Then we had a ten minute spell when we changed our identity. We started thinking we could overplay which I let the players know in no uncertain terms after the game that's not our identity, that's not how we play whether we're 1-0 down or 4-0 up we still play the same way because that's our identity as a club and that's my identity as a manager.
"It's been a tough couple of weeks, there's no two ways about it, it's been a tough couple of weeks for the players.
"They are playing probably seventy percent at the moment in terms of energy levels because they are working hard in training.
"Really, really pleased with the attitude, the desire, the character, the energy and the game management as well."
Keith Hall suggested that the players were aiming for 'I've got the ball, I'm going to make something happen'. None of this side to side, slow movement.
"It's bang on.
"We had a situation on Saturday around the 70th minute against West Brom where Curtis Pond has kicked the ball the length of the pitch and one pass and the centre half has headed it out and we have a thrown in twenty yards from goal.
"Why do we need 300 passes, why do we need loads of passes along the back.
"All I ask is when we move it across the pitch higher up we move it quickly.
"If we can move it from one side to the other as quickly as possible.
"We got Mendes who every time he gets it he wants to put the ball in the box and it causes problems.
"We scored, it was a fluke, but we scored by putting the ball in the box, the first goal. (Own goal)
"I want balls in the box, I think that's been very evident the last couple of games we've played and we'll continue to work on it.
"We'll get better but so far so good."
