Former Hereford striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway has signed for Chippenham.
Chippenham Town FC are delighted to announce (subject to relevant clearance), the signing of 30-year-old centre-back, Aaron Amadi-Holloway from Hereford FC.
Aaron joins the Bluebirds from the Bulls after a standout season for Hereford in the National League North last season that culminated in Amadi-Holloway being named Hereford’s Player of the Year. Aaron of course will be no stranger to some of his teammates this season including his centre back partner from last season at Hereford, Luke Haines who has also signed for the Bluebirds following his time at Edgar Street.
A local lad, Aaron started his career coming through the system at Cardiff City, he joined up with Bristol City whilst representing Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 level. During his time at Bristol City, he was sent on a loan to then Conference side, Bath City. Released from Bristol City without an appearance to his name, he spent 4 games with Newport County before finding a real home with Wycombe Wanderers. He would go on to play over 50 games for the Chairboys and at this point, solidified himself as a solid player in the EFL with time at Fleetwood, Oldham Athletic and Shrewsbury all yielding a big return on appearances scoring some 15+ goals along the way in the Football League!
In an interesting move for Amadi-Holloway, he left Shrewsbury in 2019 to join Robbie Fowler of Liverpool and England fame at his new job in management for the Brisbane Roar in the A-League. Fowler must have liked Aaron as he followed Robbie to East Bengal in the Indian Super League. On his return to England, he joined up with Burton Albion, before heading to Hereford the following year.
A big 6ft 2in defender is always going to command attention, but what is noticeable about Aaron is his athleticism and experience to go along with his presence and size.
