Herefordshire Council elections took place yesterday and the results have surprised many observers.
In essence the Conservatives are now the largest party with 21 seats but not with enough seats to have overall control.
Biggest losers are the Independents down from 18 to just 6.
The Lib Dem doubled their number of seats to 12.
Conservatives 21
Lib Dems 12
Greens 9
Independents 6
True Independents 3
Labour 1
Unaligned 1
Recently the football club has spoken to the council about the leases on Edgar Street which only have seven years to run.
The club also want to update the floodlights at the ground. A longer lease would probably attract a higher grant to do the work.
Whether the changes at the Council will make any difference remains to be seen.
But it's expected Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds will meet whoever is elected to lead the Council shortly to push the case for a longer lease.
