Hereford FC's new manager Paul Caddis impressed supporters at a packed-out Fans Forum earlier this evening.
He was introduced to those present by club chairman Chris Ammonds.
Caddis didn't promise the earth and accepted that he would make mistakes. However his enthusiasm was there for all to see.
Whilst there wasn't a lot of hard news coming out of the event, it was revealed that Caddis had signed a two year deal.
He said he hoped to play with two strikers at every home game but said that might not always be the case at away games.
He hoped to sign a core of 15/16 players who would be backed up a few younger players and a few loanees. The first signings should be announced within the next two weeks.
The impression was given that there were unlikely to be players signed who weren't fully fit.
At present there is just one player under contract for next season, Aaron Amadi-Holloway. Caddis said he would be speaking to him about which position would suit, striker or defender.
Caddis hoped to announce his assistant soon. One got the impression that this person may be employed elsewhere and that their season wasn't yet over.
Caddis said he would revert to training on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. He felt this change would probably attract players who have full time jobs. It will still take place in the Birmingham area.
Tuesday training would evolve around fitness levels.
The new manager is unlikely to move closer to Hereford. He mentioned having children in schools. However he said he would be staying locally on Thursday and Friday evenings and probably Saturday as well.
He said he would ask players to be prepared to mix with supporters whenever possible. He wanted closer contacts between them and the fans.
Questions were asked about pre-season friendlies. Given his links with Birmingham and Swindon, one or both of these clubs might send a team to Edgar Street.
Caddis isn't registered as a player, he said he liked cakes too much!
He was asked what supporters could do to help. Come to games was the reply.
The meeting closed at 8pm.
