To Match A Performance And A Result Pleased Klukowski

Hereford FC interim manager Yan Klukowski spoke to the local media after yesterday's 2-0 win at Peterborough Sports.

"I thought the players were fantastic, did everything they needed to do to come to a really difficult place to win a game of football," said Klukowski.

"And the players have finally got a win which they deserved over the last three to four weeks.

"Results haven't been particularly positive for us but the performances have always been there.

"So to match a performance and a result is really pleasing.

"You have to get the right balance between trying to play attractive football and being a bit more direct on a bobbly surface and I thought we had that balance spot on today.

"You've also got that threat with Miles Storey, I though Aaron Holloway was magnificent as a focal point for us in terms of his link play and his ability to feed Miles when he could.

"A really great day for the players and they deserve all the credit."

Defenders Orrin Pendley and Zac Lilly both put in strong performances.

"Man-mountains both of them against two different opponents in Gash and the lad Jones. They will know they've been in a game today but they were strong and I enjoyed their in possession play as well. A fantastic all round performance from our centre backs.

"I'm really pleased we scored from a set play, we work hard on those so for one to come off is really pleasing.

"As I've said before credit to the players as they have stuck with it and they've not been getting their rewards of late. Today they have."

Harry Pinchard delivered for both goals, one (Pendley's) a free kick and one (Haines's) a corner.

"Harry's technical ability is one of the strongest in the division. He's got a wonderful left foot, he's got a variety of deliveries in terms of his technics. Pleased for him to get another assist. He's probably our leading assist maker this season.

Hereford are now safe from relegation.

"Pleased, I'm a glass half full kind of guy so I was always looking at whom we could catch.

"But in the situation we are in you were always looking over your shoulder until it's done.

"We can go now and really enjoy the last home game of the season, really try and put on a show for our fans and send them off into the summer with big smiles."

Finally Klukowski was asked if he had been interviewed this week (for the manager's job)

"No I haven't."
