Darlington Deserved Their Victory Said Klukowski

In his post match interview at Darlington, Hereford interim manager Yan Klukowski admitted that the home side had deserved their 3-0 win.

"I must say Darlington deserved their victory," said Klukowski.

"I thought we were flat today and that's probably the first time since I've taken charge.

"Highly disappointing.

"Darlington certainly worth their win.

"We'll have to be perfect at any opportunities to make the play-offs going forward."

Interviewer Keith Hall felt there was a lot of long ball in the first half. Was that part of the game plan?

"It was part of it but not the number one and number two parts of the game plan

"I thought our long balls lacked quality.

"People say long balls in behind is a real skill to be able to do that and put it into an area and we weren't big enough.

"We didn't turn the defence around to allow Miles to get them running back towards their own goal.

"We spoke about it at half-time and in a ten/fifteen minute period in the second half we executed that properly and got a few chances from them."

Whilst Darlington were 1-0 ahead at the break the game was over when a chance for Hereford didn't go in the net and Darlington quickly scored their second.

"I think that sums up where we are in terms of our confidence in front of goal.

"It wasn't a 3-0 game, we had an opportunity at 1-0 down.

Chances Like This Need To Go In

Within 60 seconds they go and get their second.

"Then we had a perfectly good goal chalked out, Tyrone Barnett scores, it was onside to make it 2-1.

"Within 60 seconds they go down the other end and get their third

"That sums up where we are.

"Something has got to change. That's for me and the staff to look at whether it's personnel or formation change to get us back to winning ways.

"We lacked energy, we lacked being on the front foot, locking in and winning those one on one duals all over the pitch.

"When you come away from home and you don't have that it's difficult to get three points.

"Long journeys don't help but I'm not going to stand here and make excuses.

"We were beaten by a better side."
