Marco Rus has returned to Coventry after his loan spell with Hereford ended earlier this week.
"His loan is up," manager Josh Gowling told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"Coventry has had a few injuries and he's currently with the first team.
"He's been brilliant. He wants to come back.
"We spoke to Coventry about renewing the loan. They said leave it with us for the time being.
"As soon as he is available we can have first dibs on him.
"I'm sure we'll see him back in a Hereford shirt very soon."
Gowling said he would like to bring someone else in.
"We had a board meeting on Wednesday about things and what we need to do to improve the squad.
"We don't have an endless pot of money so we will have to move some people on to get some players in."
