Gate Money: The Story of Non-League Football’s Funding Fiasco, will go on general release on Wednesday November 30th.
After successful screenings across the country this week, including a sell-out event at the Storyhouse Cinema, hosted by Chester FC, the film will be free to air on YouTube from 9pm this Wednesday. The film will also be available for download, advert-free, on Amazon at a date to be confirmed.
Gate Money is the story of the £10 million National Lottery grant that was supposed to keep 66 National League football clubs alive during the pandemic.
How
did what should have a feelgood story turn so toxic, so quickly, that
some cashed starved clubs were pushed to the brink? Why did the league
end up burying the report into its own conduct? And why does football
still not have an independent regulator? In the first 24 hours after its
release, the Gate Money trailer attracted over 50,000 views.
