A much-improved Hereford performance still saw them beaten 2-1 by high-flying Darlington.
The Bulls took the lead after ten minutes with a low drive from Jack Evans, and largely dominated the first half.
But a Darlington effort from within their own half bounced off the crossbar to give Hereford a scare late in the opening period, and then the away side equalised 30 seconds later through Ben Liddle.
Seven minutes after the restart, Darlington caught Hereford on the break to take the lead, as Jack Lambert swept home.
Despite Hereford’s pressure late on, Darlington did all they could to absorb time and ultimately travel home with three points.
