We Gifted Them Three Points Said Taylor

After last night's defeat by Hereford, AFC Fylde manager Andy Taylor gave his thoughts on the game.

"It's a very difficult one to summarise," said Taylor.

"First half we were, in my opinion, completely dominant.

"They entered our half two or three times.

"On one of those occassions we gifted them a penalty, 1-0 down.

"Having said that I still believed we would get back in the game because of the way we were playing and the performance.

"Second half we did, got ourselves back in the game.

"And then we shot ourselves in the foot and gifted the game to them.

"I'm not best pleased.

"It's just ill-discipline, a little bit weak mentalilty wise, I can't defend it.

"Conor, I'm not sure what he's thinking, it's indefensible to kick the ball away like that when you are on a booking.

"It's weak to conced, yes we've gone down to ten men, but there's still no reason we should conced like we did.

"I thought first half it was as good as we've played for a while, taking the goal out of it.

"I think second half we continued where we left off, they came back into the game a little bit, changed their shape to a back three.

"They got a little bit more control in the game but I thought we were in the ascendency.

"We scored the goal and I expected us to go on and keep our foot on the gas and win the game.

"But the events that followed, inexplicable really, and we've just gifted them three points tonight."
