Three Bridges Is A Lovely Family Club Said Gowling

Yan Klukowski Scores Hereford's First Goal

Speaking after Hereford's 3-0 win at Three Bridges, manager Josh Gowling made mention of the home club and, in particular, what a pleasure it was to play against them.

But, despite the win, Gowling wasn't too pleased with his side's first half performance.

"Not first half, I thought they made it very difficult," he said.

"A few naughty tackles in there which cost us Zac (Lilly) but it was a good game.

"They are an absolute credit. You can see now, I know they've lost the game, but there are kids everywhere.

"They made a right game of it.

"It's a lovely place, it's a lovely family club, they were a pleasure to play against, credit to the football club. And well done to them for getting this far.

"Second half I thought bringing Tyrone (Barnett) on made a massive difference.

"I think out fitness levels overall just took over and won us the game."

Gowling had to make several changes to his starting eleven.

"It's difficult because we brought Zac in. Zac is still ill, he's had the flu but we had to put him in.

"Kane (Thompson-Sommers) has been out with an ankle injury and we put him on but he's had to come off again with his ankle.

"We had a make-shift back four which was difficult."

Miles Storey led the line in place of Barnett who was on the bench.

"We wanted to give Miles an opportunity down the middle and we played (James) Caton again today and he scored.

"We made quite a few changes. But that's the squad we've got. Making the change second half raised the intensity and the levels.

"I spoke to Ryan (Mclean) at the end, I thought he came alive about the 80th minute. I thought the second half he lost his way a little bit, he wasn't tracking back in, getting into good areas where he could pick the ball up and drive forward. When he started doing that towards the end he started creating.

"It is difficult on this pitch because it's quite a small pitch so there's not that natural balls in behind.

"But I thought second half with Ty down the middle and Miles off him we just looked such a threat in central and wide areas."

Another clean sheet.

"Is that four in four now so really pleasing. Luke (Haines) marshalled it really well. Skip (Jared Hodgkiss) isn't here today and Luke is our vice-captain. He talks, he organises, he wants to win and he'll pull people around him. Really pleasing.

"We are assessing Jared. I think it's better than we thought. At first I thought we were looking at a grade two medial so I'm hoping it's a mild grade one. He's felt better over the last couple of days so we'll assess him this week and take it from there.

"Jack (Evans) trained the other day so he's back. Kane was back but he's gone again. Zac the tackle on him - if you see Zac's leg he got a thing from his knee all the way down so I'm not sure how long he's going to be.

"Jordan was here today and he's still a bit sore. Aaron is not far away either. Hopefully we can get these lads back fit."

The draw is on Monday. Any preference?

"Something at home that we can get through to the next round would be ideal.

"It would be nice to have something at home.

"This was a long trip today. The lads have left early, four, five, six hours on a coach to come here so it's a long old journey and I think you probably saw that in the first fourty-five minutes which was a bit leggy."

Newly appointed assistant manager Yan Klukowski scored Hereford's first goal. Are you going to give him a goal target?

"I know, he smiled at me as well!

"He's come and scored to get us going.

"I'm delighted he's taken the role in place of Steve Burr. He's got a lot of respect in the dressing room and we've worked together for years.

"Just pleased to get him on board."
