After Hereford were defeated at Bradford on a 4G pitch last Saturday, manager Josh Gowling felt that the pitch didn't play well.
Southend striker Jake Hyde is even more critical of artificial pitches.
“Everyone is a little bit different with their views,” said Hyde.
“I can’t stand them and I don’t think they should be allowed but they are.
“They don’t sit right and it’s harsh on the body too.
“The game is played differently and the ball bounces differently too.
“It’s hard to judge and you don’t understand the toll it takes compared to grass on your body, it’s horrendous.
“I always think that 4G will always find out any niggles or strains you’ve got.
“Any issues you’ve got it maximises that and finds them out."
