We Controlled The Game Said Gowling

Aaron Amadi-Holloway Still Not Fully Fit Said Gowling

Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to the local media after yesterday afternoon's 1-0 victory over Bromsgrove in the FA Cup.

"They are always hard games," said Gowling.

"They are a league below, in a sense we are expected to win so it was a tough game.

"I thought we controlled the game from start to finish but we could have been a bit more clinical to be honest.

"You end up back-end of game kind of not hanging on but they are putting a lot of balls in the box, really the game should have been dead and buried.

"I thought the concentration levels were excellent today. You look at some of the goals we've conceded this season and they've been from mistakes.

"I felt today we were on it, it was a professional performance I thought.

"When we did turn balls over we did so in good areas which enabled us to get bodies back behind the ball, that was really pleasing."

Gowling made five chances to his starting eleven.

"I've got great staff and we sit down and when we are not winning we look at areas we need to improve on. We sat down and made those changes. Tactical changes a few things today enough for us to get the win."

One of the changes was playing James Caton instead of Miles Storey.

"When we play with Ryan and Miles, you see Miles in the second half, they are lightening quick, they get up the pitch but I think at times we turn the ball over a lot.

"The idea of playing Caton today was to retain possession a little bit more, enabling us to get hold of the game a little more at times. I thought he did that quite well.

"He came off at half-time with a bit of a niggle. For a debut I think he did okay.

"Again when you've got Ryan and Miles in the team when they get on the ball they are absolutely electric. We did get in good areas today but I just felt we didn't quite pull the trigger did we. At the end of the day we'll take a win."

Gowling was asked about the injury situation.

"Kane was in today, Jack was in today, they've got some ankle issues. Brad with his arm, Aaron is on the way back.

"At this point in the season we've had quite a few games back to back so we've got a few niggles but it enabled us to make changes today and still get a result."
