After Hereford 3-0 victory over Blyth Spartans yesterday, manager Josh Gowling gave his reaction to the win.
"I know it sounds a bit boring but probably the pleasing thing for me was the second half after about fifteen minutes when they had a real good spell in the game, put balls in the box.
"What we did do was that we dealt with it and when you come through those periods you get to score goals.
"So as a whole really pleased.
"We looked at them, we thought they played a quite high back-line so we wanted to exploit that. So we had Ryan a bit wider and we put Harry out wide because we know he rolls in the pocket well and we brought Jack into the team and he's got real good end product.
"I think Ryan could have had more goals than he got, on another day it's more."
Gowling had three debutants in his starting eleven, Dino Visser in goal, Jordan Thompson in defence along side Luke Haines and Jack Holmes playing behind the striker.
"They've been in training with us. Dino has been with us before, then went away and we've brought him back in. Jordan was in on Thursday training, he had his first session with us, and Jack was in, he's had two sessions with us.
"I thought they were excellent. I thought Jack was man of the match, Jordan gave us a bit of composure at the back and Dino talks really well.
"I thought we could have dominated the game a bit more than we did but we've got Leamington on Tuesday night which is going to be a tough one, the way they play."
Orrin Pendley and Lekan Osideko have gone out to clubs to get some minutes.
"We had to move players around for financial reasons. Orrin is a long-term project. As a defender he is excellent, he's 26, he's got a lot of improvement, he hasn't had much coaching. He's going to be training with us while he's out at Coalville to play games. We want to improve him.
"The same with Lekan. You saw what Lekan did in pre-season. He needs to play games and he needs to be fit. He'll be training with us the same but going out playing games and hopefully scoring goals. (Which he did yesterday for Redditch). When he's ready we'll bring him back."
