Gowling Dedicated Victory To Memory Of Kacper Biela

Josh Gowling

At the start of his post match inteview, Hereford manager Josh Gowling dedicated the 2-0 to the memory of Kacper Biela, the young football who tragically died recently.

"We had a chat before the game about our families, about our friends and about the young lad who passed away sadly," said Gowling.

"I was fortunate enough to see him play, he was a big talent and it's sad to hear what has happened.

"We said to the lads today let's put on a performance for Kacper and his family and our familes and friends because life is precious.

“It was so horrible to hear that especially one of our own. Kacper was a lovely kid and had bright future."

What about the game?

“I thought in the first half  we gave too many balls away. We looked a bit nervy on the ball so we said take your time and have a bit of composure on the ball. Ty probably dropped down a little bit too deep.

"But coming in 0-0 at half time we had a great chance shooting down the slope and, to be honest, I thought it could have been more than two."

The crowd helped said Gowling

“They could see the work-rate and endeavour and I think it helps scoring. When we score it just lifts the place and they were singing and chanting all game, pushing the lads, driving the lads forward.

“We need to tighten up in a couple of areas but as I've said before we are a work in progess and there will be little bumps along the way but it was a real strong performance today and that was pleasing.

“We’re still a work in progress but there are plenty of positives and we’re building on things game-by-game."

Another clean sheet.

"We have two centre-halves that want to head things, they are both comfortable on the ball, they'll talk.

"Luke doesn't like losing, he scored again today. Jack Evans was excellent, he's a tank, he'll run up and down all day

"The team has legs and we've got lads on the bench, Jethro, Latty who have legs as well."
