​A Luke Haines second half own-goal proved enough for Scarborough to send Hereford packing, defeated by the seaside. 

Josh Gowling’s side never recovered from going behind, with no shots on target in the second period. 

It’s one point from a possible six to open the season for Hereford, who travel to Chester on Tuesday.
