Orrin Pendley, Harrison Summers, Seb Osment and Mark Derricott |
A very warm Malvern Town welcomed Hereford FC to a pre-season friendly this afternoon.
Josh Gowling decided to play five named players along with six trialists in the first half. The five were Seb Osment, Harrison Summers, Mark Derricott, new signing Orrin Pendley and named trialist Thierry Latty-Fairweather.
Captain Jared Hodgkiss didn't feature. Gowling said he had fallen on his knee in the game against Arsenal.
"He's fine, he trained the other day, he did some running today.
"But obviously at 35, on 4G, in 40C heat is probably not the best game for him.
"So we thought we would give him a bit of a rest and we could take a look at Harrison (Summers) in that area and I thought he was outstanding today.
"He's aggressive, he got forward well, he had a little bit of a chirp with one of their lads (both were given yellow cards). But he was really good.
"Like I said we are going to lean a little bit on the likes of Seb (Osment), on the likes of Mark (Derricott) from the youth team to bolster the squad and I think they are going from strength to strength, game by game, training by training.
"So it's really pleasing to see they are coming to the fore-front now."
