Fixture Highlights

Hereford start with a challenging game against Spennymoor on 6th August whose financial backing normally sees them there or thereabouts. Older fans will be delighted to see again the possibility of sun, sea and scoring at Scarborough on Saturday 13th August. Scarborough makes for a great little break, I have fond memories of a total football move being finished off by Jon Narbett many moons ago.

Banbury is handy on Bank Holiday Saturday 27th with Gloucester at Edgar Street on Monday 29th August. Hereford have a generous start to the season and will expect to be in the top half and hopefully challenging after their first eight fixtures. They then meet regular title contenders Brackley away on Tuesday 13th September which may be the first chance to assess how likely the Bulls are to progress.

It looks like December will be a challenging month with

Kings Lynn away on 3rd
Chorley at home on 10th
Chester at home on 13th
Kidderminster at home on Boxing Day and the return on New Years Day.

If Hereford start 2023 in as high a position or better as they start December then Josh Gowling's men will be going well. Seeing Tom Owen-Evans and Krystian Pearce return for free spending Harriers will add some extra spice.

With the worst of the weather usually in January Hereford will be glad of the short trip to Gloucester on the 14th. If there is a betting market for fixture most likely to be postponed then my money is on Buxton away on January 21st, up in the Peak District and one of the highest grounds Hereford will have ever played on.

Fylde on Tuesday 21st February may see one of the lowest away turnouts and is the longest Tuesday night away fixture. The run up to Easter looks like it could decide promotion possibilities.

25th March      Kings Lynn H
1st April          Boston H
7th April          Leamington A
10th April        Brackley H

After that Peterborough Sports away for the first time ever on 15th April, Bradford PA at home on 22nd April offer the chance of points. The final game at Blyth on 29th April is the longest journey but was rightly voted away trip of the year in the National League. It is a proper ground and there are lots of coastal sights nearby with excellent fish and chips. Hereford are free scoring in Northumberland and it would a wonderful place to celebrate with Newcastle's noted nightlife just down the road. Geordies always know who the Hereford boys are!

Hereford could not have asked for a much better run in.
