Arsenal youngsters show their class


Hereford made a fast start scoring in the second minute good work from Ryan McLean giving Tyrone Barnett the chance to clip the ball over the keeper Smith for his first Bulls goal. 


Arsenal quickly settled and worked their way back into the game with a cross from Joel Ideho finding James Sweet who headed home to equalise. 



Soon after Vigar broke at pace, fed Ideho to fire the Gunners into the lead.


With hot conditions there were drinks breaks in both halves and Arsenal showed many fine touches. McLean, Storey and Barnett showed signs of building good combinations. Arsenal made a host of changes at half time. Hereford brought on Latty-Fairweather for Evans. 

Durojaiye was replaced by a trialist and Arsenal made further changes before Hereford made ten changes with the likely starters all rested for the rest of the game just after the hour. Soon after substitute keeper Osment failed to hold a Taylor-Hart cross and Edwards scored for Arsenal to take a 3-1 lead which was a reasonable reflection of the game.


Hereford's starting team was Wade; Hodgkiss (c), Haines, Lilly Evans, Lloyd, McLean, Durojaiye, Pinchard, Barnett, Storey. 

Named substitutes were: Osment, Derricott, Summers, Latty-Fairweather, Campbell, Jones and there were several trialists.

Arsenal started with Smith, Sweet, Quamina, Foran, Awe, Azeez, Butler-Odeji, Olayinka, Vigar, Cottrell (c), Ideho.

With the Arsenal first team touring America an impressive 291 Gooners were in the crowd of 2.456.
