| Chris Barker Playing For Hereford |
A fundraising match in memory of Chris Barker is to be held at Southend on May 28th.
Barker, who played for Hereford FC, took his own life on New Years Day 2020 when just 39 years old.
He started his career at Alfreton before joining Barnsley. Later he played for Cardiff, Plymouth, Southend, Aldershot before joining Hereford.
The 'Game for Barks' will see a squad of former Southend players take on a side consisting of Barker's team-mates from other clubs.
Tickets for the game cost just £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s, with all proceeds donated to the South East and Central Essex branch of the mental health charity Mind.
A fundraising page has been set up for those who can't attend the match but wish to make a donation.
