After what was probably the most action packed game at Edgar Street for sometime, Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to the local media. He was first asked about the second half. Hereford were 3-0 ahead at the break but then just after the restart Ryan Mclean, pictured above after his goal, was sent off.
"Second half horror show you mean!" said Gowling.
"We came in at half time 3-0 up, probably the most comfortable we've been all season.
"In hindsight you would probably have taken Ryan off but we wanted to get a grip of the second half and then make those changes.
"But then when he gets sent off after two minutes, I don't even think he was going to book him. One of the lads went up to him and then he booked him and then I think once he's done that he's just lost all control of the game and then dished out yellows like they are smarties."
There were 10 yellow cards including one for Gowling and also one for the Bradford manager Mark Bower.
"It was a significent milestone in my career to get my yellow so I'm very pleased about that.
"He just didn't get on with the game. He was giving yellows when there were not any. Ben had a foul down there and it wasn't really a yellow.
"The hand ball, Lloyd's arm is behind his back. It hit his stomach and he's given a hand ball and so a penalty which is then 3-2.
"You know they will make mistakes at times but it was relentless.
"To be honest it probably worked for us because it killed the momentum of the game in spells.
"For us to have such control in the first half and then come out second half and give a red and give a penalty in quick succession just kind of killed the game a bit for us."
Gowling had hoped for more goals in the second half to help the club's goal difference.
"That was the kind of thinking of keeping Ryan on. I said to the lads go and get the next goal and put a marker down.
"We had a big team meeting on Thursday. We said don't worry about where we are in the league etc let's just concentrate on winning the game.
"I thought Jared Hodgkiss was absolutely excellent, Seb was excellent. The up and down energy levels they gave us with ten men was oustanding. To a man they were a privilege to see today."
