Pegasus Made It Difficult For Us Said Gowling

Ryan Mclean Scores Hereford's Third Goal

Speaking after last night's 3-1 win at Pegasus in the HFA County Cup, Hereford manager Josh Gowling admitted that Pegasus had made it difficult for the Bulls.

Gowling started the game with mainly first team players but brought on more youngsters later in the game.

"They made it difficult for us," said Gowling.

"They sat behind the ball well and they pressed well on times as well.

"I think we had the majority of possession.

"We were a bit too one dimensional in the first half. We played some nice football, kept the ball moving, but we spoke about it at half time and I think the lads executed it better second half and got the result because of it."

Mo Faal scored Hereford's first goal which took a deflection.

"He had a bit of fortune and got the goal. He gives us something different, something we don't have in the squad. He's tall, he's good in the air. He's quick but he's got to get used to the play we play.

"I thought Ryan did well, Harry did well, Mo (Touray) really well. I thought he worked excellent all game and the young lads did really well."

Hereford players were caught offside too many times in the first half on the 3G pitch.

"Or the Lino putting his flag up a lot.

"I think we made some good runs, but we should have released the ball quicker.

"For the lads who have not played I think it was really pleasing to get the minutes.

"Ryan got a goal which he needs. He's been up there, then he's dropped off a little bit so it was good for him to get a goal and he's looked a threat all night.

"Harley and Freddie have come off the bench and done really well."

Gowling spoke well about the Pegasus set up.

"Pegasus have been brilliant with us, they've played friendlies when we've needed them, the management team are excellent, Throught the whole club they are been really welcoming to us.

"It's a really good place, good people. We want to keep a relation with them because they've been fantastic.

"And every time we've played them we've gone on a run after so fingers crossed."

Hereford's second goal was an own goal.

"I think we broke well, Sam broke down the side and put a good ball in qnd it ends up being an own goal."
