Chester manager Steve Watson was unhappy with the timekeeping of the referee at the game against Hereford yesterday.
He suggested afterwards that the whistle for half time should have been blown 'long before' Hereford equalised.
"I thought we were excellent first half," said Watson.
"I thought we were very dominant and created lots of chances and scored a good goal.
"There's no excuses for the way we defended their first goal.
"Twenty seconds remaining, we've got men ahead of their men when all we need to do was lock on and see the half out and be pragmatic and sensible about it but we were not.
"The whistle should have been blown long before it hit the back of the net."
Chester went ahead in the second half but almost immediately Hereford equalised.
"They are a good side. They are going to have a spell but it's how we manage those spells
"They had one chance first half when our keeper made a good save but we had four or five. We could have come in 4-1 and then it's a different story.
"Their second goal there's no defence for it. Nobody took responsibilty just to go and head it and we end up conceeding just after we scored.
"And then the last goal, we were pulled all over for some reason."
