We Feel Let Down We Couldn't Play Festive Fixtures Said Hale

Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale has been talking about the loss of the two home games over the Christmas period. Both were postponed because of Covid problems in the squad and staff.

"We were all so much looking forward to those games," said Hale.

"I think we all feel a little bit let down by the fact that we couldn't play them.

"I think it is really important that people know we are doing everything we possibly can here.

"We are talking to the team management, the league who has been fantastically helpful to us and they deserve a lot of credit for their understanding of our situation and other clubs as well.

"Josh (Gowling) is well aware, he understands the need for us to get football matches on, but unfortunately we are in a situation at the moment with this pandemic, it is spreading quickly.

"And unfortunately in a sports environment it seems to be spreading very quickly and we have to be as sensible as we possibly can whilst trying to push things forward.

"The League make the decisions on whether games go ahead. But over Christmas we lost those two big games."

Hale remains hopeful Hereford can secure a play-off place.

"There is absolutely no reason why we can't push forward, hopefully backed by good crowds, and push on into the play-offs."
