Pinchard The Star Man For Hereford

Son of Eric watched Hereford at Merstham this afternoon in the FA Cup. The Bulls won the game 2-0.

'Hereford will be very pleased to have got this game finished given the weather was so awful.

It was a very professional performance especially in the first half with lots of pleasing inter-change play by the front six players.

Pinchard and Owen-Evans especially standing out and Pinchard scoring a peach of a goal in the second half having set up Owen-Evans for the first goal.

Pinchard very much the star man standing out for quality all over the pitch.

Lloyd in the heart of the team with the keeper making his debut in the FA Cup having hardly a thing to do.

Merstham were workman like, also a good referee who knew what the game meant and told anyone getting out of line very quickly what could be expected to stop any dirty or foul play made for an enjoyable game.

Hereford should have won far more comfortably but the main thing is they are through into the next round.'

A full report will appear tomorrow.
