Hereford FC manager Josh Gowling spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after his side's victory in the FA Trophy at Aldershot this afternoon.
"It was a really tough game, they made it very difficult for us," said Gowling.
"Obviously to conceed at the end was frustrating but the lads showed their resiliance, showed they are a bit ice-cold, put the ball in the back of the net and Brandon came up with a great save at the end to win us the game then Luke put the ball in the back of the net, no pressure penalty!
"I'm really happy. "
The squad had practised penalties after training games.
"Some of the are drawn so we've ended with penalties in the last couple of weeks, not necessarily in preparation for this but we found the best players so it was good.
"Luke said to me the last time he took a penalty was in the final of a competition and he missed. He said he was a bit nervous.
"He is such an asset to the football club, young lad. I had no doubt about him taking that penalty."
Hereford scored after just five minutes when Michael Bakare was on hand to prod the ball in from close range.
"What was frustrating for me before we get on to that we tried to make a sub right at the end. For a minute we were screaming at the fourth official but he didn't want to do it. It was our throw in. Off the back of that they went and scored so that was frustrating.
"We looked at their stats when they go a goal down they got about a 29% equalising rate so we knew if we went a goal up we would more likely win the game so that was our game plan to start quick, get an early goal and then see what they've got.
"It was a cup game away from home and playing against a team from a high level and we didn't gather the ball as much as I would have liked.
"But credit to the lads they were solid, they were resiliant and we got the win in the end."
