James Watts, who reportedly left Edgar Street earlier this month after three years as general manager, may be about to return.
It's thought that the club board have had second thoughts about their decision to manage without Watts. A change in the 'Furlough' rules may have influenced their thinking.
The club would have had to give Watts some 'redundancy' payment given his length of service but if some agreement can be made about him continuing in his post it might save the club having to pay out.
Whilst it's understood that it's not yet a done deal, if it goes ahead Watts would be back on 'Furlough'.
Given the most recent 'Furlough' scheme runs to the end of March this seems plausible as hopefully by that time the club would be looking towards the 2021/22 season and a return to normality.
Some one who knows the club inside out would be a great advantage going forward and Watts would be an obvious candidate.
