After yesterday's 3-1 win at Gosport, Hereford's Tom Owen-Evans praised the return of Lenell John-Lewis to the side.
"With Lenny back it makes a massive difference," said Owen-Evans.
"He takes away the two defenders and it allows me and Finny to have freedom, and coming off the wings and joining in with him.
"And I think we saw that today how much easier it is for us to play along side him.
"We looked a threat, we could have scored more.
"I hit the bar in the first half, I think Finny had one blocked off the line and Lenny had another shot that's just gone wide. We could have scored five, six, seven today."
There were seven Hereford players making their debuts.
"I think that's the main sort of ingredient that we've got this year that maybe we haven't had in past seasons, we've got that experience.
"If we had come here last year then maybe if we were under the cosh at 1-0, 2-1, then we might have lost it but today we held our shape well and we managed the game better and got the result."
Owen-Evans played just behind striker John-Lewis.
"The ball goes into him and you know it's going to stick and if he's not going to hold it up he'll make it hard for the defenders so it's going to be dropping in around him.
"The gaffer said to me and Finny to roll inside and play off him like we had got three strikers up there. And we've seen today that it worked."
