York City could receive around £2M after the sale of Ben Godfrey from Norwich to Everton.
When York sold centre-back Godfrey to Norwich they made sure a sell on clause was part of the deal. And last night Everton reportedly paid a fee of around £25M plus add-ons.
“The monies we’ll receive will dramatically help the football club," said chairman Jason McGill." It will become the largest transfer-related fee York City Football Club has received.
“The figure’s undisclosed so we’re trying to get the exact deal down in writing from Norwich but it is significant and we had a very good sell-on clause of 10 per cent which I negotiated in 2016."
