Chester Receive Take-Over Approach From Local Businessman

Chester City FC have revealed that local businessman Stuart Murray has made a bid to takeover the supporter owned club.

The bid comes at a time when the club say they will lose around £100K because of the coronavirus.

Last November Murray put forward plans aimed at Chester reaching League One. They included the building of a 50 bedroom hotel.

The club board don't appear to be very pleased with the approach.

"We believe the absolute priority for the board and everyone involved in the club should be to focus on ensuring that we can navigate through these immediate challenges together, alongside developing a longer-term sustainable strategy for the club suited to the post-Covid-19 world.

"We have asked Stuart to respect the wishes of the board on this matter and work with us as we plan our forward strategy."
