Joanie Roberts has been put forward by HUST to become a board member of Hereford FC.
If approved by the board, she will become the second female director of the five-year old-club; Helen Byard being the first.
Back in 2017, Roberts often helped Hereford Goals with video coverage from games. She also helped BN with match reports at that time.
She also became a volunteer 50/50 tickets seller for HUST.
In June of that year she was co-opted onto the HUST board.
Joanie Roberts, who
lives in North Herefordshire, will be well known to purchasers of 50/50
tickets. On match days, she is a regular seller outside A Block. Joanie
is a Business Relationship, Sales & Event Manager and believes she
can offer advice to HUST on the marketing, fundraising and corporate
sponsorship platforms.
In October 2017, Roberts was confirmed as a HUST director and became involved in their fundraising.
The following July, Roberts bravely sky-dived for HUST during a family day at Shobdon Aerodrome.
Interested in media, Roberts became RadioHereford FC's Technical Assistant and seldom misses a broadcast from a game.
In November 2018, Roberts was appointed vice-chair of HUST.
When Andrew Graham became chair of Hereford FC in June 2019, Roberts welcomed his appointment of behalf of HUST.
"Andrew is a passionate supporter who has the interests of the Club and
supporters firmly at heart and we look forward to working closely with
him in further developing the relationship between the Club and the
Trust. We also welcome Helen Byard onto the HFC Board - the Club’s
first female Director."
In November 2019 Roberts became chair of HUST after Richard Tomkins decided to step down.
"It's a privilege to be able to contribute to the Trust and Club during
the next transitional phase," said Roberts.
"I thank my fellow board members for
expressing their confidence. We are delighted to have strengthened the
HUST Board and can now move forward with some key projects."
Just three months later, HUST have put forward Roberts to become a Hereford FC board director.
