Spennymoor's game against Altrincham was postponed at 18.30 last night by the match referee after he deemed a small part of the pitch unplayable.
Given the time of the decision many Altrincham supporters were already at the ground and so Spennymoor offered them food and drink before they set off for their return journey.
Later Spennymoor Town Chief Executive Brad Groves made a very generous gesture.
This from Altrincham FC:
"Following tonight’s disappointing late postponement of our Vanarama
National League North fixture at Spennymoor Town, we are happy to
announce that Spennymoor Town Chief Executive Brad Groves has offered
free coach travel for Alty fans to the rearranged fixture. We thank Mr
Groves for his generosity. We would also like to thank our brilliant
supporters for making the long trip in vain."
