In his post match interview after the 1-1 draw against Curzon Ashton, Hereford FC interim manager Josh Gowling spoke about his decision to bring in Steve Burr as his assistant.
"I brought Steve in," said Gowling.
"I was Steve's captain when I was at Kidderminster
"I know what Steve is about, he's infectious, he's bubbly, he'll get on really well with the lads.
"I'm going to implement the style we want to play but I know his sessions are high-tempo, high pressure, good football and that's why I've brought him in. He's got a lot of experience and is someone I can learn on.
"Football is one of those funny industries where you meet so many people and you don't really keep many friends.
"I was at Kiddy a long time ago but I've always kept in contact with Steve. I do class him as a friend and I have a lot of trust in him. That's something I want to develope and he's someone I want by my side."
Gowling was asked asked whether 'it was a penalty at the end'.
"I don't know, my eyes aren't that great in the dark so I'm not really sure.
"It was a difficult one. It looked like a coming together.
"Rowan went down, he's a big lad, but we got it, that's what counts."
What about Stephen Dawson who remains listed in the match programme. Are discussions still going on?
"That's between the board. I'm not getting involved with that kind of stuff.
"If I was the manager that would be different but that's between Dawson's representives and the board. I'll leave it there with them."
