Former Hereford United and Wrexham striker Dixie McNeil has joined the Wrexham board.
McNeil who is also the club's president joined the board last month.
His appointment has been welcomed by former Wrexham star Danny Williams.
Wrexham are currently 20th in the National League just two points above the relegation zone.
Williams is hopeful they will stay up but feels changes need to be made.
"Wrexham have been there or thereabouts the last couple of seasons and to fall as low as they have, something is wrong somewhere.
"The main thing for me is that the people running the club are business-people but you have got to have football knowledge.
"Dixie McNeil coming onto the board means there is some football knowledge there and he is a decent bloke, but there are not many of them."
