Report - Hereford U18's 3 Swansea 1

Hereford under 18's ran out 3-1 winners over Swansea at Edgar Street this afternoon. The Swans are a Category One side so it was a good result for the Bulls who had little rest after their FA Youth Cup win over AFC Telford on Thursday evening.

The game kicked-off at 4pm as the first team had been training on the pitch earlier.

Both teams started brightly but there were few real chances for either side in the first half. Swansea probably shaded the half in possession terms.

One of the few chances for Hereford to score in the first half
After the break Hereford started to create more chances.

However on 60 minutes Swansea took the lead

Fourteen minutes later the Bulls were level, Will Nmwake the scorer.

On 75 minutes the Bulls took the lead, Morgan Evans with a pin-point header.

From then on Swansea piled on the pressure but could not get past Hereford's well drilled defence.

Just minutes before the final whistle Hereford went 3-1 up. This time Jack Prosser was the scorer.

Andy Bevan, head of the academy, was in charge of the young Bulls and he was delighted with the victory.

"I thought the lads application was brilliant.

"Terrific performance really pleased."

Finally a word of praise for the referee who was from Newport. He let the game flow and only blew-up when he really needed to.
