Jordan Nicholson - Man Of The Match

Jordan Nicholson was Hereford's man of the match against Gateshead last night. He scored one of Hereford's goal and 'assisted' Tommy O'Sullivan with his goal.

Afterwards he spoke to the local media.

"It was a great game," said Nicholson.

"The atmosphere helped us throughout and I'm just happy we got the win in the end.

"Look at the depth of the squad, everyone is fighting for a place and I was just happy to get my chance tonight and take it.

"We were unfortunate to concede the way we did, going in off the back of Brandon but I thought our fight and determination was good and we deserved the win.

"It's a great group of lads and we're always pushing each other on just looking for the bigger picture.

"I know how Reece plays (Nicholson and Styche played together at Darlington), I've played with Reece before but the way we set up tonight was the Gaffer's shape and it worked in the end so happy to get the three points.

"He likes to get the players forward, aggressive play, and we showed that tonight. I thought we were excellent all over the pitch, it was a good result."

Where do you prefer to play?

"I'll play anywhere, it doesn't bother me. 10 behind the striker, left, right. I like to play in pockets and get on the half-turn, I think that's my game and I showed that tonight.

"It's massive result off the back of Boston and Guiseley. We know what we are capable of and we showed that tonight.

"You look at the squad and you see the depth of the squad we've got, everyone is fighting for a place.

"We are learning the Gaffer's style of play, how he wants us to play, he wants us to be an aggressive team.

"The Gaffer has only been in a couple of weeks, we're learning styles of play and patterns of play, how he wants us to play so it just about gelling together and putting that on the pitch."
