Bulls sign former Boreham Wood striker

Hereford have signed striker Bradley Ash after he was on trial at the club.

The 23-year-old was most recently at Boreham Wood, scoring five goals in 28 appearances last season.

Ash - who was on trial at Yeovil earlier this summer - also played for Barnsley and Weston-Super-Mare.

He earned his move to Barnsley after scoring 14 goals in 14 games for Weston in his debut season in Conference South.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started,” Ash told the official Hereford FC website.

“I’ve been on trial at a couple of professional clubs but as soon as Hereford showed an interest I was really keen to get the deal done."

“I’ve known Rico for a while and so he didn’t have to sell the club too much to me, but I’m really excited by his ideas and his ambition for the coming season. Everyone at the club wants to be challenging at the right end of the table and that really excites me.”

Ash was an unnamed trialist during Saturday's win over Aston Villa Under-23s, playing around 55 minutes in the match.

Head Coach Marc Richards added: “It’s great to be able to strengthen our attacking options by bringing Brad on board.

“He gives us a different dynamic in the final third and again raises the competition for places.

“Brad has already proven himself in the league above with Boreham Wood and we are delighted to have secured his signature.”

Meanwhile before deciding to sign for Hereford, Ash had been on trial at Yeovil and Newport County according to Ciderspace.

'Ash played in Yeovil's pre-season friendlies against Stratford Town and Hereford, which included him scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute of that game against the club he's now signed for. He then went on to trial for Newport County, scoring against Welsh side Undy AFC and also Bath City. '

And his goal against Hereford.

'The trialist, Bradley Ash, beat two players to drill the ball past Brandon Hall on the edge of the area.'
