Leyton Orient manager Justin Edinburgh has died just weeks after taking them back into the Football League.
Edinburgh, who was just 49, was rushed to hospital last Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest.
He had been at the Champions League final supporting his former club Spurs.
Edinburgh was manager at Newport County from 2011 to 2015.
In 2013 Newport returned to the Football League after winning the Conference play-off final against Wrexham.
Hereford head of football Tim Harris knew him well.
'Justin Edinburgh was a
inspiration to many that knew him, a true gent. Privilege to have
worked with him, shared some memorial occasions @NewportCounty RIP my friend'
Hereford general manager James Watts also worked with him.
'Horrific news about Justin Edinburgh. Having worked with Justin for four
years he was always having a laugh and a pure motivator. RIP Justin.'
Before taking on the Newport job, Edinburgh was linked with a vacancy at Edgar Street after Simon Davey was sacked. He was manager at Rushden and Diamonds at the time. However Hereford decided to appoint Jamie Pitman.
As far as is known Edinburgh was last at Edgar Street on March 5th 2013. Newport won the game 3-2.
