Defeating Hereford Is Vital Says Guiseley Manager

James Waite Should Be Available For Saturday's Game
Defeating Hereford is vital if Guiseley want to survive in the National League North says their manager Marcus Bignot.

Guiseley are in 19th position in the league with 33 points, two places and six points below Hereford and haven't had a game since March 2nd.

However the delay has helped in the sense that Bignot has a fully fit squad to choose from for Saturday's game at Edgar Street.

"It's a case of if we get a good amount of points over the next few games then it's in our own hands, " said Bignot as reported by the Telegraph and Argus.

"In many ways you've always got to take points from the teams in and around you. Then it keeps those teams in and around you. But we have just got to focus on us.

"We know what we are in and we know it's not going to be easy, but I am pleased with the direction we are going.

"It's a mini-league for us. We are right at the business end now. Everyone starts to do the maths. We come up against a very good Hereford team on Saturday. This is a game we can't afford to waste. It is of the upmost importance that we get the points.

"It is all about results now. If we get performances over the next few games then we will get enough."

Meanwhile Head of Football at Hereford Tim Harris has told the Hereford Times that several players, including Keiran Thomas who is suspended, will not be available for Saturday's game.

However loanee striker James Waite will be back after his suspension and another loanee Jac Hickman could make his debut at right back.

"We can do ourselves a big favour if we can get a positive result," said Harris.

"We have the chance to put ourselves in a really good position. If you look at Guiseley and the quality they have got there you would say that something is not quite right as they have decent players at this level, but that is their problem."
